What makes this destination worth the journey.
The 'Jewel of the Sahyadris', a 400-year-old fort above Bhandardara with a natural rock window called Nedhe.
Ratangad, at about 1,297 m above Bhandardara, is prized for the Nedhe or 'Eye of the Needle' - a large natural cavity near its summit that frames the surrounding peaks. The base is Ratanwadi village, home to the ancient Amruteshwar temple, and the trek is about 6 km one way with a few final ladder sections. Views take in Kalsubai, Ajoba, Alang and the Bhandardara backwaters. Agencies often combine it with a lakeside camp at Bhandardara.
